A pilot whose plane crashed while fighting a Nevada wildfire died after being transported to a medical facility, state officials said.
The single-engine air tanker went down in a remote area about 45 miles east of Falon in the Clan Alpine mountain range, KTVN-TV in Reno reported.
The pilot, from Missoula, Mont., was helping fight a 1,300-acre fire that broke out early Thursday.
The aircraft, an Air Tractor 802, was owned by Montana-based Minutemen Aviation.
