April 29, 2008 – Husband Sued for Bursting Wife's Eye with Carrot

A Connecticut woman is suing her husband for injuries she sustained when he threw a carrot at her during an argument.

Pamela Vecsey of Monroe, Connecticut, lost her eye on July 14, 2006, when her husband hurled a carrot 20 feet during a heated argument. The carrot struck her in the left eye, causing it to rupture. The damaged eye was removed and replaced with a glass eye.

Pamela’s husband, 48-year-old Roderick Vecsey, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct, but the charges against him were later dropped.

Although Pamela is suing her husband for her injuries, the couple still lives together.
